My Unknown Soldiers

Next up: yesterday’s treasure box had 21 tintype photos of Civil War soldiers, with their weapons. None are identified, which always makes me kind of sad — brave and/or terrified young men, lost in the mists of history. (The one at the right is hand-colored.)

We have another mechanic’s cabinet filled with another bunch.

My challenge is to get good photos of them through the glass. So far, so good.

One Response to My Unknown Soldiers

  1. Susan, the tintypes are a real treasure indeed. Love the handpainted soldier. The frame is very ornate and love the texture type layers that encompass the two brave men.
