The Wave

As I sat mesmerized by the scenes of tsunami power, I realized that I was wearing a depiction of it on my finger.

Last year when I lost my wedding ring, we replaced it with a gold ring Jim got me years before we were married. Made by a friend of a friend, it was modeled after a famous Japanese print — The Wave, by Hokusai.

Odd symbol for love? A heaving watery ride on the quaking earth? Being totally swept away? Maybe not so odd.

  1. Beautiful Susan. Guess love may have the same powers as the Earth.
Enjoyed your entry. Symbolism of the Japanese print for the ring is lovely.
