Famine Fever Fire Farm

I’m spending more time reworking old material than creating new stuff. I came across this golden-oldie of how my Barrett ancestors made their way from starvation in Ireland to the hope of prosperity in Missouri>>>. Talk about your “grand exits” — they saw it all, for five long years, before they settled in for 50 years of farming as Missouri homesteaders.

It’s also a good example of how you can slo-o-o-o-wly piece together the family story, though mysteries remain.
