I’ve been fixing up some web pages about the old days at Castlewood. I remembered I had a tape somewhere — a third-generation video tape of old home movies. They’re bad, as home movies are, but I love the 1947 glimpses of my parents, grandparents, aunt and uncle, cousins. If this is 1947, it was the summer my parents got married.
The activity is classic Castlewood — sitting in a circle with a beer in hand, energetic kids. The scene was much the same in 1957, with different chairs and more kids.
I hope the original films are preserved. We can get them professionally transferred to digital movies one of these days and see more clearly into our past.
