A week of celebration, obsession, and real life
"Tribe of the Breakaway Beads" Project. Surpised at how fast Amazon had the book ready for purchase after I approved the proof. And I'm thrilled with how petite and darling it looks. But I wasn't at all prepared, so had to rush to put up a webpage.
:: Retooling [infrastructure]
I am testing out the use of plain .txt files, with markdown, to be able to do writing on any device, any platform, any time anywhere. Why is this better than pen and paper? Because then I can store a lot of notes on Dropbox, in "the cloud."
Moving the blog portion of my Mad In Pursuit from Wordpress (free) to Squarespace (not free), in hopes of having a more reliable platform with better tools for writing from anywhere.
Apparently, I must be anticipating many roadtrips... and frothing creativity. Also a little OCD, wanting to think about writing without actually going deep.
:: Real life
Jim had a colonoscopy. The preparation was the usual, predicable ick. But then we were the last appointment (3 o'clock) at Highland and all the accumulated system delays of the day snowballed, such that we didn't get out of there till nearly 7 P.M. Patient is fine. Just a little anemic.
It has been a year of waiting rooms for me (not to lessen the fact that it has been a year of doctor-dentist-hospital-lab visits for Jim). The chairs are uncomfortable and music blasts at you.
Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg -- listening to Audible version while I do yoga. Inspirational to rev me up for creative writing again AND to use writing as a "spiritual practice."
:: Project Planning
Blocks of time ahead:
- 2 days till we head south for Thanksgiving: road readiness; Ireland trip plan
- Dec 2 - Dec 20, before Christmas roadtrip: drum and bugle video; family history stuff; party
- Jan 1 - Jan 28, before Florida snowbird trip: finish Asia collection inventory
- Mar - Apr, before Ireland trip: bead inventory?
